How much time does it take to set a simulation up?

5 January 2026

Typical setup ranges (rule of thumb):

  • Try a pre-built simulator: 2–5 minutes to find, open and start.
  • Pilot-ready custom simulator (basic): one day for a first version.
  • Polished simulator (with multiple chapters and complex horizontal story): 7 days

What affects the timeline:

  • Starting point: using a pre-built simulator is fastest; creating from scratch takes longer.
  • Complexity: a focused skills simulation (one scenario, a few decision points) takes less time than a multi-chapter programme.
  • Inputs available: if you already have source materials (playbooks, templates, internal guidance), build time drops substantially.
  • Review loop: if you want stakeholder review (partners, KM, L&D), allow time for iteration.
  • Guides: use out guides to build custom simulators using your data and matter details. It will allow to save time while creating unique learning experiences
